Our history

Aleppo soap was made in Aleppo in Syria 3,500 years ago, making it the oldest soap in the world and the ancestor of modern hard soap! Our first factory was built by Ismail Al Azim (Ismail the Powerful) in 1239. Initially, it was used as a warehouse for goods.
Our family, the Zanabili , owns two soap factories and began crafting soap in 1823 in one and in 1824 in the other as an accessory commercial activity, becoming the main activity in 1842. Then, this profession was passed down from father to son for centuries, up to our grandfather, Mr. Zahed Zanabili. Until today, the manufacturing method has remained unchanged since antiquity.
